Yes, We Have No Bananas

Each evening, before leaving the top floor of the house to retire for the night, I leave a plate of snacks for Don. In the highly probable event, he wakes up before 8:30 am, he will have finger food available for snacking before a more traditional breakfast can be served. Said plate sometimes include grapes, cheese, fruit cups, bananas, cookies, raisins, crackers, apples, and/or trail mix.

Each morning, I collect the plate and check for the food that has been consumed. Next evening, I start with the favorites and rotate the not-so favorites. Never have I ever removed an uneaten banana. Today I found the uneaten, rotten, black, and molding bananas stuffed in a basket with clean silverware and other utensils kept in Don’s room for convenience.

Note to Self: I will never think of a fruit basket the same after today.
