Don has cycled through falling incidents on and off since his stroke. This past week was another trip-and-fall streak, taking a tumble almost every day. Today I find him between his bed and recliner. He is on his back, camping out on the floor with pillows and blankets. I give him instructions on how to roll over and get up on his knees. The bed has practical rails to use. He laid there like a baby, rocking back and forth, but not making any progress. Then I brought in chocolate chip cookies baked last night. Within seconds, he raised himself to a sitting position.
Note to Self: Next time, I will skip the whole tutorial on getting his butt off the floor and just bring cookies.
