Long Black Train

We had a winter storm today with ice and freezing rain mixed with snow. It proved just enough to make a mess and kill the power all afternoon. No electricity, no cable TV, and no WiFi. I put Don to bed early to conserve heat in his bed. Being cold is intolerable for him. Electricity finally came back on about 7 p.m. Don is still awake, which is unusual for him at this hour of the evening. He emerges from the bedroom.

Don: You missed the photo of a lifetime.

Kristy: Do tell.

Don: I looked up and saw I was on a train going north. Just me and the boys.

Kristy: North to where?

Don: Snoqualmie.

Kristy: What was in Snoqualmie?

Don: The train stopped, and we went for a walk. We got back and discovered I lost my shoes. We looked everywhere.

Kristy: You went on part of this walk with no shoes? In the snow?

Don: Yeah. They kept lowering the train and then raised it several times. We found no shoes.

Kristy: Then what?

Don: The hotel there was the best part of the whole trip.

Kristy: Is the coffee warming you up? Does it taste good?

Don: I will let you know tomorrow.

Note to Self: Sounds like an episode from The Sopranos or Yellowstone. Watch out, boys, for that long black train.
