Happy Easter

A small ceramic bowl, covered in painted felines, is Don’s choice for several packages of peanuts. He ripped open the bags of snack-size peanuts and half of them hit the floor. He must be snacking on the rest of the peanuts that landed in the cat dish. I find him slumped over at the kitchen table like he’s passed out or asleep. I walk closer and he weakly raises his head and opens one eye before wearily falling back on the surface of the table. Seems somewhat dramatic. An offer of pancakes rises the man from his position of what looked like sheer deprivation. Deprived of what I don’t know, but it wasn’t peanuts.

Don: Did you see the couple standing across the street on the balcony for 2 hours?

Kristy: A copple? What’s a copple?

Don: No, a couple. Black male and white female.

Kristy: I see a lot of people on the street, but none of them are standing on a balcony.

Don: I think they are waiting for the TV to come on.

Note to Self: I think the Easter Bunny is not the only imaginary creature from Don’s point of view on our own large top floor deck.
