Kristy: Time for bed.
Don: No.
Kristy: No. Why not?
Don: I want to watch the end of the football game.
Kristy: Are you referring to the Detroit vs. Rams game?
Don: Yeah, I guess.
Kristy: You guess? Dude, that game was over 1/2 hour ago. Would you like to know who won?
He responds with a blank stare, as if he’s considering whether he can trust me to tell him the truth.
Note to Self: As if I regularly trick him with verbal lies at bedtime. On the contrary. We all struggle to keep him up past 5:30 pm so he will sleep through the night.
