Slow Burn

I slow cooked a pork loin roast in the crock pot today with cranberry sauce and dry onion soup mix. Both sweet and moist. I paired it with mashed potatoes and gravy and added a small salad.

Thursday Night Football was on and I got Don got started on dinner and a game. I returned fifteen minutes later, and he announced he had finished eating, patting his stomach to show he was full. He ate the salad and pushed the rest away. The rest of his meal went into the garbage. I went back in at halftime during the game to see if he wanted ice cream, and found him pouring milk on a bowl of cereal.

Kristy: Should I just buy you 100 boxes of cereal and refill the milk every so often so you can have a big variety 3 times per day?

Don: No, because there’s no brown sugar.

He has emptied 2 bags of brown sugar off the store shelf in 2 weeks. The sugar settles in each bowl of cereal, and I end up washing half of what he scoops in down the drain.

Note to Self: Revise my shopping list. Sugar and milk are cheaper than roast, steak, chicken or fish.
