Arrivederci

Gianni: Did you know I’m leaving today?

Don: I heard that.

Kristy: It’s been a godsend to have you here, Gianni. Thanks for all your help with the outdoor projects that Don can no longer do. We got a lot of important things done.

Don: Gianni, do you have a cell phone?

Gianni: Yes, it’s downstairs. Do you need to borrow it?

Don: When you get a minute, can you contact Kristy and ask her to let me know if she’s coming here today or staying at the other house?

Gianni looks at me, where I sit 3 feet away from Don, and says, “Yeah, OK, Sure.” Gianni then prepares to leave after taking another half an hour to locate said cell phone and his jacket. Don then turns toward me.

Don: Are you checking the mail regularly?

Kristy: Yes, whenever I can.

Don: There should be a lot of paychecks that need to go to the bank. I don’t think I’m getting all my mail.

Kristy: You made arrangements to deposit your social security earnings electronically into your bank account.

Don: Thanks for coming. When do you think you will be back?

Note to Self: Money in the bank and wife out of town. Time to hide the liquor.
