Uncle Gianni Pizza Dinner

Uncle Gianni brings Hand Tossed DiGiorno Supreme and Culinary Circle Garlic Chicken Alfredo Pizzas for dinner. We all think we want to try the Garlic Chicken Alfredo pizza first. It proved to be exceptionally good. I can recommend and would eat this grocery store freezer item again. As the second entrée for the night, we dig into the DiGiorno Supreme when Don has a sneezing attack, one sneeze after another that he claims was becoming uncomfortable. Coastal spring weather can bring on allergic reactions.

When Don recovered enough from sneezing to talk, he lets Gianni know that’s what happened on the day of his massive hemorrhagic stroke. He claims he and I went out to lunch that day, after he worked an early morning shift. When we returned home, Don started a sneezing attack in the front yard and kids, grandkids, and neighbors gathered while paramedics treated him on the lawn. Then, they airlifted him to the hospital.

I started laughing so hard I had to leave the table. Gianni carries on a conversation with Don in furtherance of the fateful day of his stroke as I cleaned up the kitchen. Gianni, who is a retired OBGYN doctor, asked me later if that’s how it happened?

Not exactly.

Yes, he worked an early morning shift that day.

Yes, we had lunch together, but it was at home.

No, there was no sneezing whatsoever.

No, it was not in the front yard. It was in our living room.

Yes, neighbors gathered on the street, and one grandchild was here with us. Derrick and Genevieve were at the house visiting when it happened. Derrick is the one who found him.

No, our children were not present, but guests’ children were on the premises.

Yes, they airlifted him to the hospital.

Note to Self: What the hell was in that Alfredo sauce?
